Fr. Jesús Salinas, LC: My First Year of Priesthood
A Crazy Year. A Year of Blessings!
Hello everyone! I’m Father Jesús Salinas, LC, originally from Mexico City, and for me it’s always a joy to share how God has acted in my journey towards the priesthood, but this time I would like to share in a specific way what He has done in me during my first year of priesthood that I just celebrated. But before I start, let me tell you briefly about my background.
An Interview with New Ordained
Fr. Christopher Gronotte, LC
The Happy Camper
Coming from Kentucky, I always enjoyed the simple things in life. I guess I get that from my Dad. We didn't say much, but we always enjoyed each other’s company. My mom made sure that we did our prayers, especially the family rosary which we never missed. My normal Catholic boyhood was changed up when my parents moved me from our parish school to Royalmont Academy, the Regnum Christi School that was just starting in Cincinnati. Over the next few years, Legionary Priests and Brothers would come and...
In Loving Memory of Frank Pierce (1998 - 2020)
From the Funeral Homily for Frank Pierce given by Fr John Bullock, LC
"Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, only about two miles away. And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him; but Mary sat at home. Martha said to Jesus,
'Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died’'"
Martha, a faith-filled follower of Jesus, basically said, ‘Where were you?!’
“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died "Why, Lord?’" "Why Frank? Why now?"
It is an existential cry that comes from the depths of our hearts,
MEET OUR REGNUM CHRISTI OHIO VALLEY TEAM
Introducing Br. Ryan Carlin, LC
Hey everyone! I'm pleased to meet you. My name is Br Ryan Carlin, and it is a blessing to serve you all here in the Ohio Valley. I originally hail from Baltimore, Maryland, and have been involved in Regnum Christi since I joined ECYD in 1995.
I was blessed to meet Regnum Christi early in life, and over the years, my whole family also became part of the Regnum Christi family back in Maryland. During my formative years, our family was blessed to know and work alongside of so many great Legionaries, Consecrated Women, Consecrated Men, and other lay members of the Movement.
Isabel Losinski - Regnum Christi Missionary
My name is Isabel Losinski, and I'm one of the missionaries this year serving in Cincinnati! I am from Northern Virginia, and I have a family of five.
I am new to the Regnum Christi community and decided I wanted to be a missionary towards the end of my sophomore year. The Washington D.C. missionaries came to visit my youth group, and as they gave their testimonies, I felt a strong desire in my heart as God was calling me to do this. I do not have Regnum Christi in my area, so my contact with them was limited. However, after realizing I wanted to give a year to Christ, I got into contact with some of the Consecrated from D.C. and got to know Regnum Christi a little better.
I came into this year with a lot of unknowns and worries as I was not sure I was able to do this with the lack of experience I have with the Movement. However, I have learned over these past few weeks that God has prepared me in so many other special ways to help others this year through my unique experiences. I have been very active in my youth group and parish back home, and I felt inspired to do more apostolate like this for a whole year.
This year because of COVID-19, we have a lot of unknowns as to what we can and cannot do. However, we are coming up with creative ideas to still serve and bring others to the faith and to have a personal encounter with Jesus. We have been planning retreats, fun activities, discussion, etc. in order to help those in this community to feel as though they are still loved by God, even during these difficult times.
I feel this year is going to be so special with how we can help others, and the difference we will be able to make is going to be so different from other years. I am so happy here in Cincinnati, and I can not wait to see what God has in store for us this year! God bless you!
Jeanne Henkel - Regnum Christi Missionary
My name is Jeanne Henkel and I am a Regnum Christi Missionary here in Cincinnati for the year! I'm from Atlanta and have a large family of eight siblings, who grew up very involved in Regnum Christi and ECYD.
I've always been familiar with the Regnum Christi Mission program and knew many of the missionaries who came to Atlanta throughout my life. However, I never thought this lifestyle would be for me.
At 14 years of age, I was nominated to be an ECYD missionary by my friends. Without a doubt in my mind, I threw the letter away. The thought of being somewhere new with people I didn’t know was very overwhelming and not at all exciting or attractive.
My high school years came and went, but through them I developed a relationship with Jesus that became really important to me. During the last two years of high school, Jesus kept giving me these amazing experiences of Regnum Christi that set my heart on fire. I loved mission work, I loved ECYD apostolate, and I loved Regnum Christi. In doing these things, I felt most joyful and most myself. And seeing how the missionaries in Atlanta loved their work and how happy they were, I wondered what was holding me back?
Through many more amazing experiences of Regnum Christi, Jesus slowly stirred my passion for Regnum Christi so that it became a little stronger than my fear of the unknown. I eventually took Christ’s gentle nudges and applied. Now I am here in Cincinnati and have been loving it! I will be working with the ECYD youth here -- leading and planning retreats and formation for them, specifically for Challenge clubs. I will be working in some RC young adult activities and doing whatever I can to help build the community here!
Alex Baumann - Regnum Christi Missionary
Hi, I am Alex Baumann and I am from Columbus, MS. I grew up in a big family and I have been going to Camp River Ridge since I was 5 years old. My family lived in Indiana for a bit, where I was introduced to Camp River Ridge. Later on we moved to Mississippi. But eventually I returned to camp for three straight summers to help as a summertime missionary where I was very involved in helping lead the camps. Last year I was majoring in elementary education at Mississippi State, but I wanted to take some time off this year to do this missionary year because I felt the calling to serve God in some way. I didn’t feel that it was the priesthood, so what could I do? I would start with a year of service to God.
Peter Andress - Regnum Christi Missionary
Hello, I am Peter Andress and I was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina along with my six siblings. I was educated at home and graduated with a 4.0. I also studied piano for twelve years at the Lawson Academy of the Arts where I earned numerous awards. I am an avid sports enthusiast and I played both varsity soccer and tennis for my local high school. Growing up in a Catholic family, my faith has always been important to me. I became an altar server at age seven, was an active member of Conquest, and also joined the Knights of Columbus. My favorite time of year is Christmas and my all-time favorite trip was a pilgrimage to Rome, Italy with my friends and family. I am looking forward to giving this year as a missionary to lead other young boys to Christ.
Stephen Beins -
Regnum Christi Missionary
Hello, my name is Stephen Beins. I am a Regnum Christi missionary here in Cincinnati this year and I am originally from Kensington, Maryland. I am the second youngest of seven Kids and I grew up going to Catholic school and playing just about every sport. I have also grown up in Regnum Christi which I have known all my life attending K4J, LTP, ECYD, and doing street Missions. My older brother was a Regnum Christi missionary as well. The reason I wanted to do the Mission Year is because I felt this calling to lay my life down for Christ and to do his will. Now I am very excited to be in the Ohio Valley Area to help spread the word of God to all the people I meet.
Consecrated Women - Launching into the Deep
by the Deep
The consecrated community of Regnum Christi here in Cincinnati began our new year together with a time of peaceful, prayer filled rest and togetherness by the shore, thanks to the kindness of a family who lent us their home for this blessed beginning to the new “year” Why is that so significant?

An Update from the Cincinnati Legionary Community
The Spring and Summer of 2020 were not an average couple of months for the Legionary community of Cincinnati with Churches closed and so many of our camps and retreats canceled due to COVID-19 but we were able to continue to serve the Regnum Christi members of the Ohio valley in all kinds of new ways.
THE "REGNUM CHRISTI IDENTITY"
Living the Mystery of Christ and Making it Present in our World so His Kingdom Comes in Hearts and in Society: a Personal Call Shared with Others
Our newly approved Statutes have a chapter called “Foundation of the Regnum Christi Federation.” This is where you find the purpose and mission of Regnum Christi — in other words, the reason it exists. Moved by the desire to keep growing in our understanding of the gift of our charism — with mind and heart — we offer these reflections as a resource to delve deeper into how our vocation is fundamentally an invitation to let the mystery of Christ transform our life and allow Him to continue His mission through us. We propose starting with number 8 of the Regnum Christi Statutes as a key interpretative passage.

Our Christian Adventure as Members of Regnum Christi
Witness the Love of Jesus Christ by the Unity and Charity Among the Members of Regnum Christi
“Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure.” --
St. John Paul II 4/26/1997 Homily
The Christian life is an adventure with Christ. Every step brings new encounters with the Lord and with others, and the call to witness to the Lord’s love. It is an adventure lived in communion with others, brothers and sisters in the mission. A member of Regnum Christi finds all these elements in his or her vocation from Christ, to follow Him in the Regnum Christi Federation: a spiritual family, a common spirituality and an exciting mission.
This article briefly explores each of those themes: what Regnum Christi is, what living out a vocation to Regnum Christi means, whom we live it with, and what our common spirit and mission is.
